Welcome to Berkeley's Kitchen!
About Us:
Berkeley's Kitchen (BK) is a non-profit organization that aims to inspire the Berkeley community and the Greater Bay Area to cook more and eat more, but of course with a delicious twist. Our main mission is to provide our community affordable food education in cooking and other culinary forms, and promote diverse ethnic cuisines while emphasizing on sustainable foods. Moreover, one of the principles of Berkeley's Kitchen is to support charitable works. BK organizes and subsidizes cooking classes for populations in need within the Bay Area. Moreover, BK is endorsing a language tutoring program for low-income Chinese children in Tijuana, Mexico. The language program is organized by Sprout for Success.

Who's writing about us?
Berkeley's Kitchen has been published in various sources, such as
he BerkeleySide and Lettuce Eat Kale. Writer, Sarah Henry, was impressed by our concept and hard-work that she decided to write about Berkeley's Kitchen to help us increase exposure. It brings me a lot of joy to see our community interested to learn more about us, the things we do and how we do them.

Winning 1st place at the Crabby Chef Competition at Spenger's
On October 11th, 2009 Our founder, Cristina Lau, and one of our chefs, Anna Zulaica, competed at the annual Crabby Chef Competition at Spenger’s Fresh Fish Grotto . The festival included an “Iron Chef” style culinary competition that culminated with a Crabby Chef being chosen. Cristina and Anna, two young foodies with no culinary degrees, competed against a line of restaurants, a culinary school and a catering company and proudly brought home first place on their first try. That's says something about Berkeley's Kitchen.
